appropriate way to announce our upcoming move.
This momma doesn't think so.
The Lord willing we will be moving in two months to East Asia (not Japan, if that was a bit confusing from first picture:). We are beyond thrilled and overflowing with thankfulness to the Father for paving a way for this next journey in our lives. There is much to do and many special people to see before our departure. I was counting today and as a husband and wife we have packed up and moved 8 times in less than 7 years of marriage. I was the little girl that hoped to stay in the same city when I grew up, because as a girl it was always very difficult for me to move. Now that we are the Travelers, I can't imagine a more wonderful life. We only want to be followers of our King.
All the moving really helps one not to be such a hoarder of things. At this point we have 3 piles of stuff: 1. garage sale or give away 2. store at parents house cause I want to give to my children someday or 3. take with us.
Ever since our family experienced a house fire when I was 14, my perspective on stuff has changed. I am not saying I don't like things but its easier to let go. My parents were my example in this. At the time of the fire they were out of town and after recieving the call about the fire they said, "As long as our children are alright, the rest does not matter." The things I seem to treasure more are notes from loved ones, books/journals, pictures and certain treasures I want to pass on to my babies. I am not saying its easy to say bye to things, just easier. Plus now, I have traveled a bit in the world and I have seen the intense poverty and I wonder, how can I really care about that Pottery barn mixing bowl set when there are millions lacking drinking water and a meal today. The Lord is constantly challenging me to be a generous, sacrifical giver...I long to live this way.
Four years ago we sold our home, moved our stuff to storage. For years there was a weight that our stuff was just sitting there getting dusty and being unused, it felt so wasteful. Recently, we were able to say good bye to our storage building and it feels oh so good. Now, we must condense our 60 years of life into a few suitcases/crates. This is tough, but we are very excited about this soon to be FREEDOM!!
Some cute pics of the boys.
The serious shot...he just looks too big.
Enjoying his first little train ride...I think he liked it.
Not sure what this face is about, but what a cutie.
for this one. i just think it is adorable.
The last few days I have been staring at the moon, its just absolutely beautiful. I guess Zeke has given me a new love as he is able to find the moon about every time we are outside, day or night. This week as I have stared at the full moon, after the boys are in bed, I have thought often of that night 2000 years ago when Jesus prayed in those last moments before He gave His life to Redeem mankind. I am overcome once again that we have such a wonderful Savior that chose to become flesh and dwell among us. I love this time of year as we ponder on His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection.
HE is risen...HE is risen indeed!!

Love the pics of the boys and the good news! Glad you will be coming back to our side of the world
Hi, Chris and Anna! Your boys are SOOO cute. I love all the pics of them! Where will you be in Asia? Please say Taiwan, please say Taiwan!!! :)
Glad to hear you're coming back to EA! The boys are getting big--they are so cute!
Awesome news!!!
Wow...I love reading your posts! There IS such a peace and freedom in following God anywhere. We'll be packing too in just 11 short months. And you're right. I hold so much more loosely to "stuff" these days. People ask what to get the boys for birthdays/Christmas...I say "Get what you want, but remember we'll have to either leave it or sell it when we go if it's big!" I don't think I would have believed 10 years ago that at the age of 29 (Anthony 30) that it wouldn't bother me not to own a home or a car (or the TWO crockpots I got when we were married:). God is SO good isn't he? He asks for sacrifice sometimes, that's for sure, but what He gives back fills me up so much more!
SOOOOOO excited for the Lowes to hit East Asia again! And this time in a doubly awesome way with the boys! Enjoy the packing!
